Chloe Benjamin discovered Door Creek Orchard as a customer while living in Madison; years later she reached out while researching her third novel. Our family and the orchard became her sources - the resulting fictional orchard is its own place, not a literal transcription of Door Creek, but Under Story did grow partly from Chloe’s time here and conversations with our family.
